This programme has been developed to improve aspiration and resilience in young people by using drama as a tool to explore the issues facing them in their local communities, and to rehearse effective, positive, personal responses.

The project is being held at Newman Catholic College in Harlesden, North West London.

2013/14 – A group of 15 young men completed, and passed, an OCN accredited Performance course; they devised and performed three short plays on the theme of ‘choices and the consequences of choices.’

The project has also included:  Inter-generational work between Year 9 boys and a group of elders from the community, Street Dance, Street Art, Spoken Word and Animation.

Culminating in an event  – HEART BEATS LIVE – produced by young people for young people – showcasing the talent of the boys, as well as collaborating with Year 12 girls from The Convent of Jesus and Mary.
